I don't disagree with the overwhelming blue vote to come. I've stuck my neck out on that forecast a few times. But it may take some time after Nov 3 to reflect those totals.
I wish I could be as optimistic.
What gives me pause is the method of voting. Unfounded as it is, Trump will "make make the false claim that mail-in ballots counted after election day are illegitimate and “are evidence of election fraud.” That's the opinion of Rolling Stone today, based upon an Axios report of three sources who say the president has been planning to declare victory "for weeks" - assuming his is ahead in several swing states and then will declare victory before states like PA count their mail-ins.
From the President's mouth last night to reporters : "I think it's a terrible thing when ballots can be collected after an election. I think it's a terrible thing when states are allowed to TABULATE ballots for a long period of time after the election is over."
He continued: "I think it's terrible that we can't know the results of an election the night of the election. ... We're going to go in the night of, as soon as that election's over, we're going in with our lawyers. We don't want to have Pennsylvania, where you have a political governor, a very partisan guy. ... We don't want to be in a position where he's allowed, every day, to watch ballots come in. "
